Background

As a first-generation British Malaysian Chinese, I have experienced both Eastern and Western cultures which has given me a personal insight into the challenges and liberation of finding our own identities and values within our families and society.

Prior to being a counsellor, I worked as a solicitor for over a decade in the City as an advisory lawyer and a litigator in both the private (including in-house) and public sectors. I have an innate and first-hand understanding of stressful, demanding working environments, as well as the struggles of experiencing court proceedings and inquests.

As well as my private practice as a counsellor, I counselled students on a voluntary basis at Kingston University and City Lit. I have also been an assistant trainer on a voluntary basis at Psychosynthesis Trust co-facilitating training weekends for students on the Postgraduate Diploma. I am passionate about supporting students invested in their ongoing development and have begun counselling those on the Foundation Year at Psychosynthesis Trust.
